A second 9.1-meter RHIB station is located on the starboard side of the platform in the main area of the ship. Both RHIB have a maximum speed of over 40 knots for maritime traffic control and search and rescue operations. The hybrid propulsion of the P71 is focused on two diesel engines of 5,440 kW each that together with as many electric motors of unspecified power on two axes with variable pitch propeller groups can offer (all together) a maximum speed of more than 20 knots. The new unit is equipped with a forward thruster and mobile stabilizer fins to ensure greater seaworthiness.
