Vittoria C868 is a special patrol vessel for search and rescue operations, designed for the Croatian Ministry of the Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure. The vessel is part of the project category A (approved by CRS, the Croatian Register of Shipping) and can cover an unlimited navigation area. This vessel is self-righting and unsinkable, moreover it presents a new propulsion system, the IPS 1050 Volvo Penta. This system enables the vessel to reach remarkable speeds –over 39 kn at full load, 35 kn at 80% M.C.R.- and have better maneuverability, and reduced fuel consumption. The complex is integrated by a dynamic positioning system that enables to keep the position (by an electronic anchor) and by 4 vertical synchronized interceptors which control pitch and roll automatically, also during turning manoeuvres.
Used in patrol and rescue operations, the Vittoria C868 is a 14-meter ship that can carry up to 12 passengers, plus three crewmen.
Four vertical synchronized interceptors by Volvo Penta enable the automatic control of pitch and roll; they also work during turning manoeuvres in combination with IPS steering in order to optimize the trim.
